FinnU Student Nurses’ Association Hosting Blood Drive Feb. 7
February 3, 2020The Finlandia University Student Nurses’ Association (FUSNA), in association with the U.P. Regional Blood Center, is hosting its annual blood drive from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday, February 7, in Finlandia Hall. The blood drive offers nursing students a great opportunity to develop their professional skills, while also providing an invaluable service to the community.
The Upper Peninsula has faced several blood shortages in recent months, so students, faculty, staff and community members are encouraged to donate to keep supplies up.
Anyone interested in donating will need to bring a photo I.D. and are encouraged to eat a big breakfast, drink plenty of fluids throughout the day before donating, and take it easy after donating.
Parameters for Donating Blood
To be eligible to donate blood, one must:
-
- Be at least 18-years-old
- Be in general good health
- Weigh at least 110 lbs
- Have not donated blood in the last 56 days
For questions, please contact FUSNA President Megan Bruci at mmbruci@finlandia.edu.
