Everything you need to know about Graduation Week 2023

Finlandia University’s baccalaureate and commencement ceremonies will be held on Sunday, May 7.

Here’s a complete run-down of when and where everything is happening during Graduation Week 2023.

Rehearsal

Commencement Rehearsal will be held on Friday, May 5 at 11:30 a.m., beginning in the Hirvonen Hall Gymnasium.

Baccalaureate

On Sunday, May 7, all graduates are invited to Baccalaureate Worship at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Hancock at 10:30 a.m. This is a service of prayer and blessing, specifically for this graduating class.

Commencement

Finlandia University’s Spring 2023 Commencement will take place on Sunday, May 7 at 1:30 p.m. in the Hirovnen Hall Auditorium. The event will be livestreamed and recorded for family viewing. The livestream will be available on Finlandia University’s YouTube Channel or at finlandia.edu/graduation.

Commencement speakers will include Tom Boldt, CEO of The Boldt Company, and the 2023 Student Representative, Kaitlyn Lundeen.

Reception

Immediately following commencement, a reception for graduates and guests will be held on Quincy Green.

Service of Commendation for Finlandia University

On Sunday, May 7 at 6:00 p.m., Finlandia University will host a service of commendation in Hirvonen Hall Auditorium. All Finlandia students, faculty, staff, alumni, neighbors and friends of the University are invited. Those who have been impacted by Finlandia’s 126-year legacy will share stories of their own as songs, blessings and a commendation are held. The event will be livestreamed on Finlandia University’s YouTube Channel.
