Finlandia Nursing receives accreditation through 2032

Finlandia University Nursing is pleased to announce that its program has received national reaccreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The program offers two tracks, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and an Online RN-BSN Completion Track. The renewed accreditation was granted for 10 years, indicating that the program has consistently demonstrated quality and effective educational practices.

On Saturday, July 23, dozens of Hancock Central High School alumni gathered on the steps of Hirvonen Hall for an all-class photo at the building’s grand reopening ceremony. The former Hancock Public Schools building now serves as the proud home of Finlandia’s professionally accredited health sciences offerings.

The 17th President of Finlandia University, Tim Pinnow, has spent his first two weeks in office focusing on the things that matter the most – community.

Finlandia to host grand opening of Hirvonen Hall July 23

Finlandia University is pleased to announce that it will host a grand opening of Hirvonen Hall on Saturday, July 23, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Now home to Finlandia’s College of Health Sciences programs, the iconic former Hancock Public Schools building also serves as the location of the Finlandia Lions Esports Arena, in addition to multiple local businesses situated on the fourth floor.

Dr. Richard Gee earns 2022 Distinguished Faculty Award

Dr. Richard Gee joined Finlandia’s Suomi College of Arts & Sciences in 2012 when he was brought on to develop the University’s Criminal Justice curriculum. After revising, creating and teaching more than 30 different courses and establishing multiple articulation agreements for continued learning, Gee was honored at this year’s spring commencement with the 2022 Board of Trustees Distinguished Faculty Award.

Students encouraged to apply for $250 textbook awards

Finlandia students who are enrolled for Fall 2022 are encouraged to apply for a $250 Alumni Board Textbook Award. The Award, given in the form of a Textbook Voucher redeemable at North Wind Books, is open to all students who meet the following criteria:

The free application will be open until Friday, July 22 and recipients will be notified prior to the start of the semester.
