Student Nurses Association hosting annual breakfast benefit for Omega House

The Finlandia University Student Nurses Association (FUSNA) is hosting its annual Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, April 10 at Gloria Dei Church in Hancock from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The event will be curbside pick-up only. Patrons are asked to park in the back of the building, remain in their car and an SNA member will come to take your order. Owner of SmartCreative to present to business class on March 17

Matthew Randell, owner of SmartCreative, a Houghton-based marketing agency, will give a Zoom presentation on “Marketing For Any Business” on Wednesday, March 17 at 2:10p.m. as part of the BUS 447 Entrepreneurial Marketing class. He’ll be talking about the challenges of a small marketing budget and what agencies such as SmartCreative can offer. Finlandia Fridays dishes on Diversity Dinner Week

Diversity Dinner is a long-standing tradition at Finlandia that students, employees and community members alike enjoy annually. It’s a logistical feat that puts students in the kitchen, cooking up dishes from their heritage and culture that they can share with others. Dr. Dekker gives insight into upcoming “Organizing with Dr. King” open classroom seminar

As part of the Spring 2021 Campus Read Anti-Racist Open Classroom Series, Assistant Professor of English Dr. Carolyn Dekker will be opening up her African American Literature class to the public. The topic of Dr. Dekker’s class will focus on “Organizing with Dr. King“. Students have been reading excerpts from Martin Luther King, Jr.’s book, Why We Can’t Wait. Student Spotlight: Chris Beyer, Sports Management

Good things come to those who wait. For 21-year-old freshman Chris Beyer, that meant waiting for the right college. 

Beyer, a sports management major from Appleton, Wis. spent his first three years out of high school playing junior hockey in Minnesota. Finlandia University plans for return to in-person instruction for fall 2021

Finlandia University has announced its plans to return to in-person instruction for the Fall 2021.

Throughout the 2020-21 academic year, the university has provided a safe living and learning environment with a blend of multiple course delivery modalities and robust health and safety policies. These policies have followed local, state and federal guidance and regulations that have kept positive cases down and controlled community  spread.
