Celebrate Constitution Day on Monday

Monday is Constitution Day, and with that comes some exciting events here on Finlandia’s campus. Below are events that are planned. Please contact Kamara Taylor with any questions or comments.

Finnish American Heritage Center announces enrichment slate for Fall 2017 semester

Finland’s going to celebrate its 100th birthday later this year, and what better present than to learn to speak their language? Or, how about learning a traditional Finnish handcraft or exploring modern-day Finland?

Finlandia ranked among 30 most affordable online bachelor’s in nursing degrees from private colleges

Finlandia University has been ranked among the 30 most affordable online bachelor’s in nursing degrees from private colleges by Best Degree Programs. The ranking was published on the organization’s website in August.

Finlandia University was ranked 26th. This ranking was created using the National Center for Education Statistics’ College Navigator database. From a list of 158 private colleges and universities with an undergraduate tuition under $25,000 per year offering online bachelor’s in nursing or online RN-to-BSN degree [...]

Nathan Ekdahl joins medical assistant program as instructor

Finlandia University’s Medical Assistant Program welcomed back a familiar face this fall as alumnus Nathan Ekdahl came back to the program to serve as an instructor and practicum coordinator.

“I wanted to join Finlandia University to continue to help others further their education,” said Ekdahl, an advocate for the healthcare profession. “A career in healthcare will always be needed as our population ages. I’m excited to start my journey here at FinnU.”

Dora Jung closing reception and lecture is Thursday

Finlandia University Gallery, in collaboration with Common Strands International Fiber Exchange, Minneapolis, Minnesota, is presenting Painter in Linen featuring the work of one of the most consequential textile designers in Finland, Dora Jung (1906-1980). A closing reception for the public will take place at the gallery on Thursday, September 14, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. with a guest lecture by Tuomas Sopanen beginning at 7:15 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public. Lions invited to leave the den to support Veterans

Staff and students are invited to leave the den and join the community in supporting our soldiers that struggle with PTSD and suicide on September 23 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Ray Kestner Waterfront Park (also known as Chutes and Ladders Park). Those attending are invited to wear  an Active Heroes or Carry The Fallen shirt to the event to help spread awareness about reducing veteran suicide through Active Heroes. A campus-wide invitation to let your light shine bright this Saturday

Finlandia Wellness Committee is excited to announce the first campus community event of the 2017-18 academic year!

Finlandia University employees and students are invited to join Team FinnU at Light the Night Fun Run/Walk, a fun 5k and family-friendly 1k event in Laurium. The event is held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, September 16.
