Lions invited to leave the den to support Veterans

September 12, 2017

Staff and students are invited to leave the den and join the community in supporting our soldiers that struggle with PTSD and suicide on September 23 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Ray Kestner Waterfront Park (also known as Chutes and Ladders Park). Those attending are invited to wear  an Active Heroes or Carry The Fallen shirt to the event to help spread awareness about reducing veteran suicide through Active Heroes. You can find more shirts and gear at activeheroesstore.org.

Participants carry weight to symbolize the emotional weight that many veterans might carry after war. Everyday, 22 veterans their own lives and Active Heroes is working towards reducing these numbers with these programs: free optional national activities, national resources and peer mentors, the Active Heroes Retreat Center and the Active Heroes Community Center where free activities help to heal post traumatic stress disorder.

register for free (military families only) or register to become an active heroes ambassador (civilians or military families) for $50 or upgrade to the tech-shirt for $75 and you will be sent the shirt, bumper sticker, refrigerator magnet, brochures and an Ambassador thumbdrive. Please note that the Ambassador Package Shirt changes often.
