Finlandia University is proud to announce that 99.3 FM “The Lift” will be the voice of Finlandia University Athletics.
“This agreement between The Lift and Finlandia is a great opportunity not only for our athletic department but for the university as a whole,” said Athletic Director Curtis Wittenberg. “Having a voice for Finlandia athletics is another piece to the growth of our department.”
For the 2017-18 year, the station will broadcast around 24 athletic contests, during new “Finlandia Game of the Week” programming. In addition, there will be weekly interviews with coaches and athletes during the station’s morning show with Rick Allen. The full broadcast schedule will be released in August on fulions.com and 993thelift.com.
Launching The Lift
At 3 p.m. today “The Lift” will be introducing their brand new format; Hot Adult Contemporary, playing the latest hit music from today’s hottest artists. The station is not new, however, as it began broadcasting as WHDF in 1929. It is the longest-serving radio station in the Keweenaw area. The station’s call letters are currently WCCY. In addition to it being on 99.3 FM, it can also be heard on 1400 AM.Tags: Curtis Wittenberg, Finlandia Lions, The Lift
