Thrivent Choice provides more than $16,000 to FinnU in 2017

2017 Choice Dollars expire on March 31, 2018

As Thrivent members know, Thrivent Choice® dollars have provided more than $370 million in financial support to thousands of churches, schools and other nonprofits. Through this program, eligible members can recommend where Thrivent donates millions of charitable outreach dollars each year.

Korpela leads crew of 18 recognized for 220+ years of service

Doreen Korpela celebrated 40 years of service at Finlandia University this year.

In October of this year Doreen Korpela celebrated the 40th anniversary of her first day at Finlandia University. On Thursday night of last week at the university’ Christmas celebration Korpela was one of 18 employees recognized for more than 220 years of service to the university.

The next longest tenured employee celebrated Thursday night Phyllis Fredendall at 25 years, followed by 20 years each for

This week WLUC reporter Harri Leigh covered a unique offering of Finlandia University – online dual enrollment courses. These courses are available to students around the world, and for high school juniors and seniors in Michigan it is often available at no charge.

Yooper Night at the Joe back for 2016

Join your fellow Yoopers at the annual Yooper Night at the Joe on Friday, December 9 when the Detroit Red Wings host the Columbus Blue Jackets.

“This is going to be a great night of hockey in downtown Detroit with a great crew of Yoopers,” said Travis Hanson, alumni contact for the university.

The event will include a pre-game social with a cash bar. Tickets are $50 each, and include an invite to the social and a ticket to the game.

Preview Day highlighted in first episode of Finlandia Fridays

This week on Finlandia Fridays we speak with Director of Admissions Travis Hanson about the upcoming Finlandia Preview Day 2016. In this episode Hanson outlines what exactly Preview Day is, and what it means for recruitment within the university. Dostaler joins Finlandia’s admissions staff

Finlandia University is excited to welcome Kelly Dostaler to the university’s family as the new coordinator of admissions operations. Dostaler began her duties Monday, June 13. She is taking over the role previously held by Stacy Froese, who is taking over the role of accountant and accounts payable specialist in Finlandia’s business office.
