Seaton Center fosters awareness and appreciation at first annual Sisu Senior Retreat

“‘We have a long way to go,’ sighed the boy. ‘Yes, but look how far we’ve come,’ said the horse.”

These words, from Charlie Mackesy’s “The Boy, the Mole, the Fox, and the Horse”, inspired the theme of the first annual Sisu Senior Retreat, which took place in the spring semester. Finlandia University Gallery hosts rising stars at fall exhibit

Ashanté Kindle and Khari Turner both created new work for their recent Finlandia University exhibit Copper Planted Seeds. Most Finlandia students, faculty, and staff have heard the term sisu thrown around in conversations or even marketing materials on campus. The word is nothing new to FinnU, but in the United Kingdom, that may be otherwise. Embrace Your Sisu: A new kind of competition designed for 2020

Finlandia University is excited to announce a new kind of scholarship competition designed to help students and the community find a moment of calm among the chaos of 2020. The Embrace Your Sisu Competition embraces the idea of art therapy to channel one of the three key tenets of sisu: calm.
