Make A Difference This Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday is only a few days away! Olivia Myers joins host Anastazia Hartman to discuss what to expect from this year’s Giving Tuesday and the difference these donations make in FinnU student’s lives.

This Giving Tuesday, FinnU is looking to raise $75,000 for student scholarships. The goal is to help keep FinnU affordable for current and future students.  For the second year, Board of Trustees President Julie Badel will again be matching all donations made dollar-for-dollar, up to $20,000.

“Last year we had a phenomenal match by our Board of Trustees President Julie Badel,” said Myers. “And this year she is again offering that match to everyone, so it is an easy way for everyone to double their money.”

On December 3, beginning at 7:45 a.m., there will be a live video segment. Following the video segment on social media, there will be competitions donors and viewers can participate in, as well as student stories shared at different times during the day.

“We are going to be featuring those student stories again, highlight how impactful these scholarships really are and the difference they make in the lives of students,” said Myers. “A lot of students can’t afford to attend a university at all without these scholarships.” 

Just like last year, FinnU will be participating in Facebook’s Giving Tuesday program. This means Facebook will match the first $7 million donated that day.

Giving Tuesday takes place on December 3rd this year. FinnU will accept donations at any point leading up to and on that day.
