Finlandia University names Tim Pinnow as next president

Finlandia University has elected Tim Pinnow, Senior Vice President for Strategic Initiatives at Colorado Mesa University (CMU), as its 17th president following a unanimous vote by the University’s Board of Trustees. He will assume his presidency on July 1, 2022.

Finlandia honors graduating Class of 2022

On Sunday, May 1, Finlandia University held its annual Spring Commencement Ceremony honoring 84 graduates in the Class of 2022. There was standing room only in the Hirvonen Hall Auditorium with more than 700 in attendance.

In his greeting, President Johnson opened with Finlandia’s Land Acknowledgment:

Vance Blackfox to be Finlandia University’s 2022 Commencement Keynote Speaker

Finnish American Folk School adds ceramics and music classes

The Finnish American Folk School at Finlandia University has introduced a new line-up of workshops for spring and early summer. For the first time, ceramics joins music and fiber arts on the list of learning opportunities. Artist Lindsey Heiden will teach Ceramic Wall Flowers for Spring May 2, 3, and 10 from 1-4 p.m. in the Jutila Center Ceramic Studio. 2022 Juried Student Exhibition Awards & Reception: Photo Gallery

On April 7, Finlandia’s International School of Art & Design hosted its annual reception and award ceremony for the 2022 Juried Student Exhibition. Friends, family, faculty and staff gathered at the Finlandia Reflections Gallery to view and discuss artwork submitted by students from across campus. Finlandia University Gallery Director Carrie Flaspohler presented student awards in the categories of 2D, 3D, Freshman and a Purchase Award.
