#GivingTuesday kicks off with $10,000 donation

Donations are now open for Finlandia University’s annual celebration of generosity, Giving Tuesday!

To help make college affordable for current and future students, Finlandia plans to raise $30,000 this Giving Tuesday season, which will go directly toward Finlandia’s annual scholarship programs. The giving season is off to a great start with a contribution of $10,000 from an anonymous donor.

Give thanks with #GivingTuesday

#GivingTuesday has officially kicked off at Finlandia University, with donations now open for the annual celebration of generosity. All donations received will go toward annual scholarship programs to help make Finlandia affordable for current and future students.

First Destination Outcomes for the Class of 2022

Finlandia University’s Class of ’22 graduates are off to a great start! The Seaton Center for Vocation & Career has completed its inaugural First Destination Survey, a new tool to collect and summarize data on graduate employment outcomes and continuing education enrollment.

Local students show entrepreneurial skills at FinnU’s Shark Day competition

Finlandia University held its second annual Shark Day on Wednesday with teams of high school juniors and seniors from Calumet, Baraga Area and Keweenaw Bay Ojibwa Community College’s career technical education program. Students competed to win a $2,500 scholarship to attend Finlandia University.

Ponsse Einari Vidgrén Foundation Internship returns for Finlandia students in 2023

Application period is expected to open in December 2022

Ponsse and Finlandia University are pleased to announce an upcoming internship opportunity for a Finlandia University student. The internship will last approximately five to six weeks, including two at Ponsse North America in Rhinelander, Wisconsin and three at Ponsse Plc Headquarters in Vieremä, Finland. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this is the first Ponsse internship offering since 2019.

Student PTA Club Hurricane Ian Relief Project

Help out with hurricane relief!

Hurricane Ian made landfall in Florida on Wednesday, September 28, as a Category 4 storm. Florida residents are in need of cleaning supplies to help make their homes livable again.

The Finlandia PTA club is collecting cleaning supplies now through October 17 to donate to people affected by Hurricane Ian and is asking supporters to offer what they can to the project.

Price of Freedom Museum fall 2022 hours announced

HANCOCK, Mich. — Along with seeing the brilliant reds, oranges and yellows of the fall color season, visitors and locals will be able to see some impressive displays of blue and white in the Copper Country this fall.

The Price of Freedom Museum, which is North America’s largest collection of Finnish war materials, memorabilia and artifacts, will be open on Friday afternoons from noon to 3 p.m., beginning October 7 through to mid-December.
