February 24, 2020File Your FAFSA by March 1 for the $250 Early FAFSA Scholarship
The deadline for Michigan students to file their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is just around the corner. To help answer common questions, financial aid counselor James Brey answers 28 common questions about the FAFSA and financial aid in a rapid-fire session.
All incoming and current students of Finlandia are encouraged to file their FAFSA by the Michigan deadline, March 1, to ensure they receive the most robust financial aid package available. Even incoming students who are not sure if they qualify for aid are still encouraged to complete the FAFSA, as they will automatically receive the $250 Early FAFSA Scholarship and may qualify for work-study opportunities. Students can also find more information in the online FAFSA Guide or reach out directly to the FinnU financial aid staff, who are more than happy to assist students and their families.
For new incoming students eligible for the Rise Together Scholarship, filing the FAFSA by March 1 is imperative to ensure they receive the free full tuition offered by the scholarship initiative. All students are also reminded to list Finlandia first on their FAFSA to be given a full overview of their financial aid opportunities. If students have not listed FinnU first, they can easily update it after filing.
