About It’s Ons Us

Sexual Assault is a prolific tragedy Nationwide. According to the National Sexual Violence Research Center, one in five women and one in 16 men are sexually assaulted during their time as college students. Finlandia University has joined the efforts of the National It’s On Us campaign, started by former Vice President Joe Biden. With funding from the Michigan State Police Department, the university is raising awareness about the realities of sexual assault on campuses and is educating prevention methods through the It’s On Us campaign. The goal is to ensure that Finlandia students will live and learn in a safe and supportive environment. It educates that it’s on us all to speak up, intervene, and enact justice for victims of sexual assault. It is time to create a culture of consent, bystander intervention and survivor support.
