Scholarship opportunities from Finlandia that would require an application and that would be in addition to the funding a full-time student would receive for their cumulative Finlandia GPA (or incoming GPA for new students) will be posted here as they become available.
Qualifying students will receive one of the following scholarships.
Board of Trustee Scholarship – $7,500
ACT score of 25 or SAT score of 1700 AND high school cumulative GPA of 3.5. Renewable by maintaining a GPA of 3.25 at Finlandia University.
President Scholarship – $5,500
ACT score of 22 or SAT score of 1530 AND high school cumulative GPA of 3.25. Renewable by maintaining a GPA of 3.00 at Finlandia University.
Dean Scholarship – $3,500
High school cumulative GPA of 3.0. Renewable by maintaining a GPA of 2.75 at Finlandia University.
Faculty Scholarship – $3,500
Earned at least 18 college credits AND college cumulative GPA of 3.0. Renewable by maintaining a GPA of 2.75 at Finlandia University.

Ambassador Scholarship – $1,500
Based on academic record, on-campus housing, limited to one student per state.
Family Scholarship – $1,000 per student
At least two family members enrolled full-time from one family.
Church Matching Scholarship – up to $1,000
Matches up to $1,000 pledged by a church.
Legacy Scholarship – $500
Available to students whose parent, grandparent or sibling graduated from Finlandia University.
All entrance and institutional scholarships and grants require full-time enrollment. Scholarship criteria subject to change without notice. Scholarship programs are subject to change due to financial constraints.

Virginia Fund Scholarship
This scholarship is open to all female freshman students currently enrolled at Finlandia University. (Now open, application deadline is March 4, 2016).
The Samuel L. Westerman Nursing Scholarship
This scholarship is open to nursing students in their junior or senior year. (Now open, application deadline is March 10, 2016).
Servant Leadership House
The Servant Leadership House is a unique living and learning community for female students who are committed to personal growth and servant leadership as a means of building a vibrant and caring community. The Servant Leadership House core commitments accompany students in personal reflection and action that is relationship-driven, holistic and transformative. Portage Health Foundation Scholarship
The Portage Health Foundation is a non-profit charitable foundation serving Baraga, Houghton, Keweenaw, and Ontonagon counties in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Through health-oriented scholarships, the Foundation is eager to support more opportunities for students from the western U.P. to study the health sciences. Additionally, the Foundation hopes that someday those students will remain in or return to the Upper Peninsula as professionals and become partners in creating a healthier community. The College of Health Sciences at Finlandia University has three $3,000-per-year scholarships available for incoming students in the RN-BSN program. These scholarships are available immediately. (Applications were accepted until the program filled).
Behind every product available at FinnStyle is a brilliant designer. Whether they’re established or up-and-coming, FinnStyle is always keen on backing designers of all types. In the summer of 2014, FinnStyle decided to take the level of support to another level by partnering with the International School of Art and Design at Finlandia University to establish the FinnStyle Scholarship program for young designers. FinnStyle is proud to offer a $1,000 scholarship every school year to one deserving first-year or second-year student to help them achieve their creative aspirations. The College of Health Sciences at Finlandia University has one $5,000 scholarships available for incoming students in the certified medical assistant program. This scholarship is available immediately. (Now closed, application deadline was June 26, 2015).
Brule Scholarship Competition for Art Transfer Students
The Dave and Elsa Brule Transfer Scholarship Competition, which will award $5,000, recognizes student talent and achievement. The competition is open to all college students who are transferring from another university. All media is welcome, including but not limited to illustration, studio arts, ceramics, fashion and fiber, graphic design, digital art and integrated design. The work will be evaluated on composition, concept, range, craftsmanship, and originality. Please note: The scholarship is available only to transfer students. Awards are distributed based on full-time enrollment (12 or more credits per semester). The scholarship begins in the academic year 2015-2016 and is non-renewable. An application for admissions must be submitted by April 24. (Now closed, application deadline was May 8, 2015).
