Everything you need to know about Parade of Nations 2022

Ever had Indian food? How about African? Bangladeshi? You can taste all those cuisines and more at this year’s Parade of Nations on Saturday, September 17.

The Parade of Nations starts at 11 a.m. at Quincy Green in Hancock. Floats and marchers with flags and banners will walk east down Quincy Street, cross the Portage Lift Bridge, then proceed east down Shelden Avenue through downtown Houghton. International food returns at Parade of Nations, September 17

The Parade of Nations will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 11:00 AM! Student and community organizations are invited to enter floats or march in the Parade. Details about float guidelines, parade route, etc, are available here. International food returns this year!

Thatcher Markham Memorial Run seeking volunteers

In association with Bridgefest 2022, the Thatcher Markham Memorial Run will be held on Friday, June 17 and they are seeking volunteers. Presented by Aspirus Health, the race will start on the corner of Quincy St. and Scott St. in Hancock and finish at Bridgeview Park in Houghton.

The 47th Annual Canal Run is July 16 this year and they are looking for volunteers!

For more than 40 years, the Canal Run has been creating incredible memories in Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula. Founded to promote the involvement and wellness of our community and its members, the event is a highlight of the summer for many of the hundreds of people who participate or volunteer each year. Parade of Nations announced for Sept. 18

Hello!

Michigan Technological University and Finlandia University invite you to join us in celebrating the 32nd annual Parade of Nations, on September 18, 2021. Come celebrate the cultural diversity of the Keweenaw region!

The parade will start at 11:00 am. Due to the ongoing construction in town, the parade route will be different this year. It will start at Franklin Square in Houghton, go through downtown, and finish at Kestner Park.

Parade of Nations Scavenger Hunt registration deadline August 23

The Parade of Nations will be held on Saturday, September 18, beginning from Quincy Green at 11 a.m. and ending near the Chamber of Commerce in Houghton. This year, the Parade of Nations community-wide event will include a parade of participants, floats and flags from around the world. Volunteers wanted for CopperDog 150

The CopperDog 150 is less than two weeks away, and the dogsled race in Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula is seeking volunteers. The race is a perfect opportunity for teams and groups to get together, but there are also dozens of opportunities for individuals and families to participate. Finlandia is proud to be a sponsor of the event once again in 2017.
