Applications now open for 2022-23 Portage Health Foundation Scholarship at Finlandia University

Applications are now being accepted for the Portage Health Foundation Scholarship opportunity to Finlandia University students studying healthcare and coming from Houghton, Keweenaw, Baraga or Ontonagon counties. The scholarship can be awarded to the same person for up to four years.

This scholarship is open to returning and incoming FinnU students.

The Mobile Food Pantry is Back at the Chapel on Dec. 3

On Thursday, December 3, Finlandia University will be hosting another Mobile Food Pantry in the parking lot between Old Main and the Chapel of St. Mattew. Organized through Feeding American West Michigan, mobile food pantries help fill the gap in hunger needs in a community, by supplementing the ongoing work of local pantries with much needed fresh produce, meat, and dairy. Local health sciences students receive Portage Health Foundation Scholarship

Small communities need the support of its healers. With the Portage Health Foundation Scholarship, local students are given tuition aid to encourage them to go into the health sciences and in the hopes that they will remain in or return to the Upper Peninsula for their careers.
