Student success in the classroom was celebrated Thursday night as 12 freshmen were initiated into the Finlandia University chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta, a national honor society for first-year success.

Finlandia Fridays gets fit this week with Bridget Durocher, Finlandia’s cross country coach, senior women administrator in athletics, and strength and conditioning center coordinator.
Durocher joined Finlandia University nearly one year ago and has never looked back. “It’s phenomenal, it is a place of opportunity where if you put forth the effort, you are going to be given ample opportunities,” said Durocher. Starting off as Finlandia’s head cross country coach, she immediately found success and started to build her team. [...]
Finlandia University is proud to announce its Fall 2016 semester Dean’s and Honors List Students. In total 117 students earned honors, including 63 who earned Dean’s List honors for having a Grade Point Average of 3.75 or above.
Nursing student Nathan Meyette works on an IV during a clinical session. Meyette is one of 63 students to have earned a spot on the Dean’s List for having a GPA above 3.75 during the fall 2016 semester.
During their three weeks in Tanzania, students participate in curricular and co-curricular activities at Kisarawe Lutheran Jr. Seminary (a secondary school), shadow nurses at the national hospital, and stay with host families. These relationship building opportunities along with accompanying reflection activities help students grow in their understanding of Servant Leadership and engage in self-exploration.
