Price of Freedom Museum winter 2023 hours announced

After a holiday and mid-winter hiatus, one of the Finnish American Heritage Center’s most prized collections will be open to the public again.

The Price of Freedom Museum, which is North America’s largest collection of Finnish war materials, memorabilia and artifacts, will be open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons from noon to 3 p.m., beginning February 13 through to the end of April.

Nordic Film Series continues with comedy-drama set in northern Finland

The February selection of the Nordic Film Series at Finlandia University’s Finnish American Heritage Center is a gripping, unconventional drama, “The Cuckoo.” The film will be shown on Wednesday, February 15 at 2 p.m. at the Heritage Center. Finland’s Independence to be celebrated at Finlandia University

One of the Copper Country’s longest-standing cultural traditions will continue at Finlandia University on the evening of Tuesday, December 6, when the Finnish-founded school hosts its annual celebration of Finland’s Independence Day. The university has commemorated the establishment of the Republic of Finland each year since Finland achieved independence in 1917.

HANCOCK, Mich. — Along with seeing the brilliant reds, oranges and yellows of the fall color season, visitors and locals will be able to see some impressive displays of blue and white in the Copper Country this fall.

HANCOCK — The Price of Freedom Museum, perhaps North America’s largest collection of Finnish war materials, memorabilia and artifacts, will be open to the public three days each week for the remainder of the summer.

Archive to temporarily close to complete reorganization
