Geri Hawley, an instructor in the Physical Therapists Assistant (PTA) program, stopped by Finlandia Fridays this week to discuss the PTA degree offered at Finlandia. “We are designed to prepare students to go out into the clinical field and work with patients under a physical therapist to be able to treat patients and get them better in any pathology they have,” stated Hawley. With Easter right around the corner, campus pastor Soren Schmidt visited Finlandia Fridays this week to promote the multitude of events taking place within the next month. Residents of Ontonagon County are invited to a Mobile Food Pantry on Thursday, April 19 beginning at 4 at Ontonagon High School. The event is being put on by Finlandia University, Ontonagon Area School District, Feeding America West Michigan and the Western U.P. Food Bank.

On September 18th, Feeding America West Michigan Food Bank (Feeding America), Campus Ministries’ The Table, and over 70 of Finlandia’s students volunteered to serve 16,000 pounds of food to 1,100 community members.
