By Faith: Paying Tribute to Suomi Seminary

Rev. Leslie Niemi returns Rev. Karl Aho’s nine iron after nearly 50 years.

“Karl, I always felt bad for taking such a nice piece of collateral for my notes,” said Reverend Leslie Niemi as he handed Reverend Karl Aho back his nine iron.

Previewing “By Faith” with Karin Van Dyke

This week Finlandia Fridays was visited by Vice President for Advancement Karin Van Dyke to tell us all about By Faith and the events that will be happening this upcoming weekend. Van Dyke also discusses Parade of Nations and the history surrounding the event.

Finlandia Hosting “By Faith” – An Event Celebrating Suomi Seminary (1904-1958)

The rich history of Suomi Seminary and the lives and ministries of its graduates will be honored and celebrated September 21-22, 2019 on the campus of Finlandia University. This event, titled “By Faith,” will gather living alumni, family of alumni, the bishop of the Northern Great Lakes Synod (ELCA), other special guests, area clergy, synod and community members, and Finlandia students, faculty, and staff.
