Santeri Says… FinnU’s Biggest Social Media Star Drops By Finlandia Fridays

On this episode of Finlandia Fridays host Olivia Myers is joined by her new cohost Anastazia Hartman and junior, international business student, Santeri Seppinen. The group catches up with Seppinen to find out more about his hockey teams Movember fundraiser, Santeri Says, the hockey season and more.

This year the Men’s Hockey team decided to take part in raising money for men’s health.  The team created a Movember video to bring awareness to the cause and where people can donate.

“As a hockey team we are trying to raise awareness of men’s health issues. So we decided to create a little video to raise awareness of our campaign and  fundraiser,” said Seppinen. “We’re just trying to do a good thing and grow a mustache for the cause and raise awareness and maybe raise some funds in the process.”

Seppinen also spoke to Myers and Hartman about his social media series, Santeri Says, and the response he has received from the community.

“Basically we are just recording videos where I teach Finnish words,” said Seppinen. “One of our assistant coaches got the idea somehow, that there are a lot of Yoopers here that have Finnish heritage and roots in Finland, so why not correct some common mistakes and tell people how to pronounce some words.”
