North Wind Books launches new website, offers Black Friday discount

November 23, 2017

North Wind Books has launched a new website! North Wind Books has a rich history in Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula, and this new web home is meant to ensure it’s success as an online and offline resource for local and Finnish-themed books, unique gift items and of course the official home of Finlandia University and Finlandia Lions apparel for years to come. Below are some of the great benefits offered with the new website.

Mobile-Friendly Shopping Experience

Like most websites, North Wind Books has seen a drastic increase in the amount of people who visit the website via mobile devices. Now that experience has been improved in major ways, including using built-in phone technology like Apple Pay to process payments!

Clean Design to Keep Focus on Products

While we loved the design of our former site, it was one of the final frontiers for Finlandia University that still had signs of the former university logo. The new site not only brings North Wind Books up to standards with the rest of the organization, but it takes away many of the over designed portions of the site to keep the focus on the products you’re looking for.

New Technology

While we’re proud of the outwardly facing items we’ve listed above, we’re even more excited about the countless back end improvements to the new website. Below is a quick list.

  • Improved automation tools to help track orders
  • Improved security for users and store
  • Improved load times
  • New opportunities for discounts and sale promotions
  • Ability to showcase items outside of North Wind Books
  • Improved accessibility

Black Friday Special

As the store celebrates the launch of our new online store, we’re excited to announce a Black Friday — and weekend long — coupon code! Use the code “GIVETHANKS10” now through Sunday at midnight eastern time to save 10 percent on your order!
