Michigan’s priority deadline for FAFSA is March 1

February 2, 2016

To be considered for most financial aid programs, students must complete the Federal Application for Federal Student AID (FAFSA) each year. For those students who live in Michigan, it is important to complete the application by March 1 to receive priority consideration for all state financial aid programs.

“We tell students every year the importance of completing the FAFSA as soon as possible,” Director of Financial Aid Sandy Turnquist said. “This year that’s again the case as the state is asking students to file prior to March 1.”

Our Financial Aid office is available to help students during business hours, and also suggests a plethora of online resources such as those available at https://fafsa.ed.govmicollegegoal.com and micollegeaccess.org.

It’s also important students and their families remember the first “F” in FAFSA means “free.” There is no reason to pay to submit the FAFSA.
