Leading the Pride Solves Crimes with Cold Case Homicide Detective, Clem Papineau Pt. 1

January 29, 2019

Clem PapineauFinlandia’s alumni podcast Leading the Pride is back this month and solving crimes with Cold Case Homicide Detective Clem Papineau. Unlike past alumni featured on Leading the Pride, Papineau attended Suomi College from 1975-76 but transferred before completing his associates degree in Criminal Justice.

Originally from Ontonagon, Papineau has had an illustrious career in law enforcement in Little Rock, Arkansas which includes being an undercover detective and homicide detective. Papineau also boasts a 37 year military career with the Army and National Guard where he fought in Desert Storm and, at one point, retired from the police department to join a Civil Support Team that looked for nuclear biological warfare weapons from terrorists. Papineau currently serves as a Cold Case Homicide Detective in Little Rock, coaches high school girls track and field, and just launched his own YouTube channel that focuses on bourbon and military history.

Listen to part 1 as Papineau talks about his twisted tale of how he wound up at Suomi then in Arkansas, technological advances in police work that are opening new leads for cold cases, and what the man who has retired twice already plans to do next. Hint: basically he’ll become Indiana Jones.

Because Clem’s story is so captivating, we’ve split up this episode into two. Part 2 will be out next week.

Parting Word

Everything that I’ve done, what I’ve built my life around, has been from what I learned at Suomi. Suomi gave me a great base to start from and provided me with all the tools in my tool box I needed to get started, and I’ll forever be grateful to them for that.”
