More about Hei Suomi

A collaborative program between the University of Lapland, Finlandia University and South Range Elementary School, Hei Suomi brings two students from Rovaniemi, Finland to teach South Range third graders about the language and culture of Finland. Initiated in 2011 and implemented in 2012 by University of Lapland education and media professor Päivi Rasi, Hei Suomi is one iteration of Finlandia’s dedication to creating relevant and far-reaching connections with Finland. Learn about their classroom experiences, their exploration of daily life in America, and their adventures exploring the Copper Country in an American Pickup Truck.

Finlandia University faculty, staff, students and community members are encouraged to attend.

Hei Suomi acknowledges the generous support of Anne Kemppainen Hodia this academic year. For more information, contact Hilary Virtanen at hilary.virtanen@finlandia.edu or call (906) 487-7514.
