How Finlandia turns Finals into the Finale

April 26, 2018

Finals are stressful. It’s a fact that college students have come to know and loathe. Finlandia aims to do finals differently.

We start, with Late Night Breakfast & Tutoring. Students are encouraged to come hang out in the Café, get some breakfast, and get some studying done. All food for the event is prepared and served by staff. This breakfast is well attended, free and fun for everyone involved.

Need to relax? A masseuse usually makes a visit to campus and a member of the Finlandia Family leads a yoga/meditation session. We like to be zen.

Taking a break to have fun is also in the cards for the students. Our TRIO Student Support Services staff sets up yard games for the students such as corn hole, life-sized jenga and spike ball.

Get out! Let off some steam! Recharge for those exams!

Along with all of the events around campus, our marketing team sends out helpful tips and lists to students. Things like restaurants that are open past the Café hours, places in town with free wifi, study tips and a study playlist to keep students motivated.

The Finlandia difference during finals week? It’s that everyone on campus is doing everything they can to make the experience easier and less stressful for students. Some years, we even have puppies…
