Finlandia sees 25 percent increase in incoming classSeptember 2, 2015
For the second straight year Finlandia University is welcoming in a bigger incoming group of students than the year before. This year the jump is 25 percent. At 287 students, it’s the second largest incoming group in school history.
“Our campus is buzzing with activity right now,” Vice President for Institutional Advancement Lenny Klaver said. “We’re honored that these students are choosing Finlandia University for their education, and we cannot wait to see what they accomplish while here.”
Overall enrollment at the school is up nearly 9 percent to a total population of 536. Finlandia Hall, the school’s lone residence hall, is up more than 20 percent. The total population at the dormitory is the most in school history.
“I’ve spoken to most of these students personally, and I know they’re going to do some incredible things here at Finlandia,” said Travis Hanson, director of admissions. “I’m also proud of my staff for the work they’ve done welcoming these students to our campus and community.”
