Registration for Spring 2021 Classes Now Open to All Students

Registration for spring classes is now underway for all students. Students must communicate with their academic advisor to receive their PIN. This number has been refreshed and is different from the one you would have used to sign up last semester. Baccalaureate Requirements

Students must satisfy the following to be recommended for a baccalaureate degree:

Complete a minimum of 120 credits (No more than 12 credits of MUS (Music), DRM (Drama), and WEL (Wellness) courses may be applied toward graduation requirements.); Complete at least 30 of the last 36 credits at Finlandia University immediately prior to graduation; Complete at least 30 credits at the 300/400 level; Complete at least 18 credits for the major at Finlandia University. Academic Standing Policies

Academic Standing

Academic standing is calculated at the end of each semester. Students in degree-granting programs must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.00 or higher to be in satisfactory (good) academic standing. Students must maintain satisfactory academic standing to remain enrolled at Finlandia University.

Academic Warning

Students who fail to maintain a 2.0 or above are placed on academic warning. In the following semester of attendance, students may register for no more than 14 credits and are required to meet the guidelines outlined [...]

Course Grades

Grade Reporting

Midterm and final grades are reported for each term. Midterm grades serve to inform students of their course progress–they do not factor into GPA nor appear on a student’s transcripts. Students may view their midterm and final grades on Empower (finlandia.empower-xl.com).

Grading Scale

Grades are reported and recorded according to the following scale:

Course Registration

The Progress Sheet

The progress sheet is a valuable guide to chart the student’s progress toward a degree. Progress sheets for all academic programs are available in this publication and outside the University Registrar’s office. The sheets list course requirements on one side and the suggested course sequence on the reverse. They are updated yearly to reflect any program changes. Students follow the progress sheet for the academic year in which they entered Finlandia University.

Credits By Previous Learning

Transfer, AP, OAC, CLEP, IBO, ICE, or experiential learning credits are awarded only after the student is officially accepted at the university. Credits earned from these sources are not counted toward GPA or residency requirements.

Transferring Courses from Other Institutions

Finlandia University accepts academic credits from regionally and nationally accredited colleges and universities that fulfill the requirements of the student’s declared program at Finlandia (including any electives) that meet the following criteria:

Select Summer 2020 Online Classes Discounted

 

Registration is officially underway for students and Finlandia University is offering a varied selection of summer online classes by discounting them at a price of $250 per credit hour. This discount will save students over 65% compared to the standard tuition price. High school graduates, visiting, and new or current Finlandia students are eligible for the summer tuition discount.
