Finlandia University will not enroll students for the 2023-2024 academic year

On Thursday, March 2, Finlandia University’s Board of Trustees announced that Finlandia will not enroll students for the 2023-2024 academic year. The decision follows months of continuous efforts to find pathways for the University to continue its mission.

Paloheimo Fellows Program Accepting Applications Through Nov. 22

The Paloheimo Fellows program allows a select group of students to travel to Finland with Dr. Hilary-Joy Virtanen to study Finnish culture and society. With the support of the Paloheimo Foundation, most expenses for travel are covered.

Paloheimo Fellows Program

Get hands-on experience conducting collaborative research in Finland as a Paloheimo Fellow.

Participate in spring seminar (FNS 490: Paloheimo Fellows Seminar, 3 credits) followed by May field research in Tampere, Finland. Learn social scientific techniques to observe and describe aspects of Finnish culture and society. Gain professional development skills in research, writing, multimedia documentation, and intercultural communication. Have an unforgettable experience using Finland as a lens for cross-cultural understanding. Due to the generous support of the Paloheimo Foundation, most expenses are covered for travel.
