Dance class open to community members

January 4, 2019

There’s no better way to keep warm during the winter months than to dance, and there’s no better opportunity to learn some new dance steps than through a social folk dance class at Finlandia University.

This Finlandia University wellness course is open to community members. For just $50 per person, you can learn traditional Finnish folk and other social dances including waltz, polka, fox trot, two-step, jenkka, contra, and square dances in a safe and fun environment.

Taught by Finlandia University professor and avid dancer Phyllis Fredendall, the class begins on Wednesday, January 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the Finnish American Heritage Center, and continues on Wednesday evenings for eight consecutive weeks. Each session will be approximately two hours.

To learn more about this exciting, unique opportunity, call Fredendall at (906) 487-7376.
