City of Hancock winter parking ordinance now in effect

The City of Hancock’s winter parking ordinance went into effect on Thursday, November 1 and will be in place through April 30, 2019.

It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to stop, stand or park a vehicle, or to cause or permit a vehicle to be parked or left unattended between the hours of 2:30 a.m. and 7 a.m. on any day on any of the streets or highways of the City of Hancock during the period of November 1 through April 30.

This ordinance is strictly enforced by the city. If needed, Finlandia employees and students should park overnight in the Upper Paavo Lot. Parking on Summit Street or in an unauthorized parking lot overnight may result in a ticket and/or tow. If you have any questions or concerns, contact Campus Security at (906) 487-7307.
