Service Sites needed for MLK Day

December 21, 2016

students-by-finlandia-hallFinlandia University’s second annual MLK Day of Service will be held on Monday, January 16, 2016 during the nationally recognized holiday of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The day of service will include a keynote speaker, campus brunch, a worship service, a film presentation. The highlight of the day is the community service that will be provided by Finlandia students, staff, faculty, alumni and friends of the university. In 2016 more than a dozen service sites led to hundreds of participants providing community service.

“There are 15 service sites confirmed, but we’d love to have an even greater impact,” said René Johnson, Servant Leadership Director and Assistant Professor of Religion. “If anyone has any ideas on organizations that could use help, we’d love to hear from them.”

In 2017 Finlandia University is hoping to double that, but in order to do that it will need your help. The university is seeking sites where volunteers can provide assistance. That can be small groups of three or four or large groups of 20+.

To submit a service site suggestion, please fill out the form below or contact René Johnson, rene.johnson@finlandia.edu.
