New video showcases Student Life at Finlandia University

The Marketing and Communications Department at Finlandia University has released a new video that showcases the many student life opportunities made available to those studying at the university. The video features highlights from events all around the year, including Heikinpäivä, residential life, athletic events and more. Overall it is just a small glimpse of the experience Finlandia University provides its students.

As a sophomore at Finlandia University Julia Coon made a bold decision: She was going to study abroad in Tanzania as part of Finlandia’s Servant Leadership Program.

Photos + Video: Service and Learning in Tanzania 2016

Six Finlandia University students and two staff members traveled to Tanzania in May for the 11th annual Service and Learning in Tanzania experience.

During their three weeks in Tanzania, students participate in curricular and co-curricular activities at Kisarawe Lutheran Jr. Seminary (a secondary school), shadow nurses at the national hospital, and stay with host families. These relationship building opportunities along with accompanying reflection activities help students grow in their understanding of Servant Leadership and engage in self-exploration.
