Seaton Center fosters awareness and appreciation at first annual Sisu Senior Retreat

“‘We have a long way to go,’ sighed the boy. ‘Yes, but look how far we’ve come,’ said the horse.”

These words, from Charlie Mackesy’s “The Boy, the Mole, the Fox, and the Horse”, inspired the theme of the first annual Sisu Senior Retreat, which took place in the spring semester. On April 1, 2022, eleven graduating seniors gathered to reflect on who they were when they began their journey at Finlandia University and how they see themselves now.

Alternative Spring Break meeting scheduled for Feb. 1

Students interested in taking part in Finlandia University Campus Ministry’s Alternative Spring Break are invited to attend an information session on Wednesday, February 1 at 4:30 p.m. in the basement of the Chapel of St. Matthew.

The event will feature dates, times and what to expect during the trip to Fortune Lake Lutheran Camp in Iron River, Michigan. If you have any questions prior to the session, please reach out to Campus Pastor Soren Schmidt.

Dr. Sarah Kemppainen is 2016 commencement speaker

Finlandia University is proud to announce that Dr. Sarah Kemppainen will be the 2016 commencement speaker. Dr. Kemppainen is currently on the Finlandia University Board of Trustees, serves as principal at Graveraet Elementary School in Marquette and assistant principal at Marquette Senior High School.

Dr. Kemppainen has a long list of professional accomplishments including several leadership honors from Delta Kappa Gamma Society, the most recent coming in 2014 when she was named Delta Chapter Woman of Distinction, Delta Kappa Gamma [...]
