Fortune Lake Lutheran Camp Summer Employment Recruiting

Staff from Fortune Lake Lutheran Camp will be on campus on Tuesday, February 7 from 10 a.m. to 5 pm. recruiting Finlandia University students to work at the Iron River, Michigan summer camp. They are looking for counselors, cooks and maintenance staff for the camp that’s located about 90 miles from Finlandia University.

In addition to being stationed at Finlandia Hall, they will also be presenting in the Chapel of St. Matthew from 12:30 to 1 p.m.

Alternative Spring Break meeting scheduled for Feb. 1

Students interested in taking part in Finlandia University Campus Ministry’s Alternative Spring Break are invited to attend an information session on Wednesday, February 1 at 4:30 p.m. in the basement of the Chapel of St. Matthew.

The event will feature dates, times and what to expect during the trip to Fortune Lake Lutheran Camp in Iron River, Michigan. If you have any questions prior to the session, please reach out to Campus Pastor Soren Schmidt.

Dr. Sarah Kemppainen is 2016 commencement speaker

Finlandia University is proud to announce that Dr. Sarah Kemppainen will be the 2016 commencement speaker. Dr. Kemppainen is currently on the Finlandia University Board of Trustees, serves as principal at Graveraet Elementary School in Marquette and assistant principal at Marquette Senior High School.

Dr. Kemppainen has a long list of professional accomplishments including several leadership honors from Delta Kappa Gamma Society, the most recent coming in 2014 when she was named Delta Chapter Woman of Distinction, Delta Kappa Gamma [...]
