Courage to Think Differently: Exploring a Christian Response to Hunger, Poverty, and Injustice

Course Description:

Students taking this class can expect a lively, serious, and bold exploration of themes central to the message of Christian Scripture: hunger, poverty, and injustice.  Students will discuss together selected essays from the book, Courage to Think Differently by George Johnson, a collection of writings that Walter Brueggemann describes as “a call to venturesome imagination.” Alongside these readings, students will engage Old and New Testament texts that address these themes and consider together their relevance and application for a life of faith today.
