Biography
Previous to Finlandia, Professor Pinnow served Colorado Mesa University as Senior Vice-President for Strategic Initiatives. In this position, he was responsible for creating eight new graduate and seven new online programs in six years while tripling the institution's sponsored programs revenue. Prior to his time in central administration, he served for six years as the institution's Head of the Department of Theatre Arts and oversaw the disciplines of Theatre, Musical Theatre, Dance, and Speech Communications. During his time as Head, he more than doubled external revenues and saw a 30% increase in student headcount. Before moving to Colorado Mesa University, Prof. Pinnow rose through the academic ranks to tenured Full Professor at New Mexico State University, an R-1, Hispanic-serving, Land-Grant institution. While there, he served as Chair of the Scholastic Affairs Committee of the Faculty Senate, member of the President's Select Committee on Compensation, and spent four years as Chair of the University Appeals Board, mediating appeals and resolving tenure, promotion, and other grievances. Prof. Pinnow began his academic career at St. Olaf College, teaching acting and musical theatre while administering an interdisciplinary fine arts major. Originally from Wisconsin, he was also elected Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi.
