The Heikinpäivä parade provides everyone an opportunity to celebrate being Finnish – whether you are, or not. Folks are encouraged to dress-up, represent some aspect of Finnishness, play an instrument and have a great time!
The top three entrants representing the themes of Finnish and Finnish-American culture or winter fun will win a cash prize. Register before the parade begins and then listen for the winners to be announced in the tori (market) following the parade.
The custom-made costumes owned by the Finnish Theme Committee, although in the parade, are not eligible for parade prizes. Visit the Finnish American Heritage Center during business hours for a closer look at these costumes.
