Day two of Festival Ruska brings Finnish food and yard game
September 28, 2017A big thanks to everyone who made day one of Festival Ruska an amazing experience, but now it’s time to focus on day two which will introduce a couple unforgettable Finnish elements to the people of the Copper Country – mölkky, voisilmäpulla and korvapuusti.
SAY FINNISH WHAT?
We thought you’d say that, let’s dive into what these things are.
VOISILMAPULLA
You’ll want to try this, it’s a Finnish butter eye bun. Check it out: http://cakecrumbsbeachsand.com/2013/05/voisilmapulla-finnish-butter-eye-buns/.
KORVAPUUStI
Think cinnamon bun, but better and Finnish. Bring your Instagram, you’ll quickly have a use for the hashtag #YUM. Check it out: https://www.thespruce.com/finnish-cinnamon-pastries-korvapuusti-2952710.
MÖLKKY
Not quite as delicious, but definitely as memorable. This is a famous Finnish yard game. Check out a quick intro to it over on Wikipedia, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mölkky.
