Finlandia expanding community enrichment offerings

This fall Finlandia University is introducing two new community enrichment courses, “The Gospel of Luke: Then and Now” and “Spiritual Information in Everyday Living.” The courses will begin September 11 and will last eight weeks. Registration is currently open.

Service Sites needed for MLK Day

Finlandia University’s second annual MLK Day of Service will be held on Monday, January 16, 2016 during the nationally recognized holiday of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. It was a beautiful summer day in August when Gary and Jean Terrio made it back to Finlandia’s campus. Photos + Video: Service and Learning in Tanzania 2016

Six Finlandia University students and two staff members traveled to Tanzania in May for the 11th annual Service and Learning in Tanzania experience.

During their three weeks in Tanzania, students participate in curricular and co-curricular activities at Kisarawe Lutheran Jr. Seminary (a secondary school), shadow nurses at the national hospital, and stay with host families. These relationship building opportunities along with accompanying reflection activities help students grow in their understanding of Servant Leadership and engage in self-exploration.
