Rajala joins Financial Aid staff

Finlandia’s Financial Aid department recently welcomed alumna Jenna Rajala (’15) as the new Coordinator of Student Accounts. Rajala started her higher education journey as a Finlandia student in 2004 and returned to finish her Physical Therapist Assistant degree at the university in 2015.

Meet your Fall 2021 Orientation Leaders

Finlandia is excited to introduce its Fall 2021 Orientation Leaders. On-Campus Orientation is a series of in-person events and activities that will introduce students to the Finlandia campus and community. Finlandia hires new PTA Program Director

Finlandia University has recently hired Melanie Thurmond as its College of Health Sciences Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program Director and Assistant Instructor.

Thurmond (’06) attained an associate’s degree from Finlandia’s PTA program and a bachelor’s degree from DeVry University in Finance. In addition, Thurmond holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Findlay, an opportunity provided by Finlandia’s graduate pathway toward the DPT program. New College of Health Sciences building renovations to be completed for Fall 2020

The former Hancock High School (featured pre-renovation) will be the new location for FinnU’s College of Health Sciences beginning in Fall 2020.

College of Health Sciences Donates PPE to Local Organization for Covid-19 Efforts

The Finlandia University College of Health Sciences is assisting in the fight against Covid-19 by donating supplies, usually reserved for class instruction, to local organizations. The CHS donated over 2800 gloves and 170 masks in addition to caps, gowns and hand sanitizer to Gardenview Assisted Living & Memory in Calumet as they work to protect their residents and staff.

It’s often said that less is more, and when it comes to homes one Finlandia University student found no exception. Justin Woolever, senior physical therapist assistant (PTA) major, took his future into his own hands and chose to build himself a home while attending Finlandia.
