Finlandia, NMU Discuss Partnership Opportunities

HANCOCK, Mich. – Two Upper Peninsula of Michigan universities, Finlandia University in Hancock and Northern Michigan University in Marquette, have launched a joint initiative to explore high-level collaborations between the schools.

NMU President Fritz Erickson and FinnU President Philip Johnson, in conjunction with their respective governing boards, are announcing that the two institutions have created a task force to develop proposals for possible partnerships and collaborations of programs, university operations and student opportunities.

Student Senate President Arty Puntus talked with President Johnson on November 4 for the Student Senate Forum.

Calling all future table tennis champions! President Philip Johnson would like to officially invite you to participate in the fourth annual President’s Table Tennis Tournament.

When? Wednesday, March 27 at 7:30 p.m. Where? Mannerheim Central. Why? To beat President Johnson, of course!

Finlandia University announces Beihai University of Art & Design as first sister school in Asia

Finlandia University is proud to announce further growth to an already fruitful relationship with Beihai College of Arts and Design in Beihai China.

Table Tennis Tournament brings back youthful memories for President Johnson

President Philip Johnson has a long history with table tennis, as he has been playing since grade school. He grew up with four older sisters, and a ping pong table always in the basement.

“My sister, Beth, was the one closest to me in age, and the one that I played the most. She was the most competitive,” President Johnson explained. “We used to play all the time growing up.”
