Finnish Consul General to speak at Finlandia University commencement

Consul General of Finland to New York Manu Virtamo is providing the keynote address at Finlandia University’s commencement ceremony on Sunday, April 30 at the Paavo Nurmi Center.

Finlandia introduces $4,000 U.P. Commitment Grant and frozen tuition for 2017-18

Efforts are first step of comprehensive redesign of financial aid practices

Finlandia University has introduced a new $4,000 grant for students who graduated from an Upper Peninsula high school, and announced it is maintaining current rates for tuition and room and board for the upcoming year.

Korpela leads crew of 18 recognized for 220+ years of service

Doreen Korpela celebrated 40 years of service at Finlandia University this year.

In October of this year Doreen Korpela celebrated the 40th anniversary of her first day at Finlandia University. On Thursday night of last week at the university’ Christmas celebration Korpela was one of 18 employees recognized for more than 220 years of service to the university.

The next longest tenured employee celebrated Thursday night Phyllis Fredendall at 25 years, followed by 20 years each for

President Johnson to lead service of remembrance, grief and protest

The Finlandia University community is invited to join in a service of rememberance, grief, and protest on Thursday, June 23 at 12 p.m. in the Chapel of St. Matthew. President Philip Johnson will lead the brief service of readings and meditation.

University invests $700,000 in McAfee Field building that’s set to open in 2016
