Finns of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula book released by Finnish American Heritage Center

The Finns’ influence on Upper Michigan’s life, history and culture is well documented. Now, it’s also well compiled and ready for a place on your bookshelf or coffee table. The Finnish American Heritage Center has recently completed a book in the “Images of America” series through Arcadia Press titled “Finns of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.”

North Wind Books to host Cub Club

North Wind Books is excited to bring back Cub Club for another summer. This four-part series of events will highlight unique children’s books and each feature a special guest host. Silent no longer, Kiranada Sterling Benjamin comes to Finlandia

Finlandia University is excited to host author and artist, Kiranada Sterling Benjamin, on campus this week.

She will be teaching a rozome workshop June 20-24, specializing in different techniques in the fiber arts studio in the Jutila Center. Rozome is the art of creating patterns on silk using dyes and wax to create negative spaces.

Textbook buyback begins April 19

Students interested in selling back their textbooks may begin doing so at North Wind Books today. This is a great opportunity to get top dollar back for your used textbooks. In addition, selling back and buying used textbooks helps save trees and other natural resources. The complete list of buyback dates and times is listed below.

North Wind Books hosting “Bakers & Books” series

Every Thursday, beginning August 17 and running through the end of September, North Wind Books will be hosting a local baker for a series titled “Bakers & Books.” The series is open to the public, will feature complementary coffee and will begin at 10 a.m. each Thursday.
