While most people hunkered down in their homes last spring at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Finlandia nursing faculty began looking for opportunities to get students involved in the (hopefully) once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

The call for additional education in the nursing profession

For nearly three million Americans, the nursing profession is a life-supporting trade, both financially for themselves, and for the patients nurses care for. A universal nursing certificate that can provide high job placement across the nation and requires only two years of school is a hard bargain to pass up. Times are changing, however, as education demands for nurses have been increasing over recent years.

Traditionally, hospitals required only a two-year degree in Nursing (RN), but the benefits of achieving a [...]

Online RN-BSN featured on Finlandia Fridays

As a nursing school, it’s important for Finlandia to continue to evolve its offerings to make sure students are provided the opportunities they need. That was the thought when the university created a RN-BSN program in the early 2000s, and it’s the thought that keeps that program going strong today in its latest evolution: the university’s first fully accredited 100 percent online program.

In this week’s edition of Finlandia Fridays, the RN-BSN program is explored with Program Director Mark [...]
