In honor of the late President George H.W. Bush, the Finnish Independence Day program at Finlandia University’s Finnish American Heritage Center will include a special musical performance, accompanied by a color guard presentation.
Vocalist Mark Oliver, a veteran himself, will sing “The Navy Hymn,” while the Houghton-Hancock Junior ROTC program presents the colors, as part of the Independence Day celebration, which begins at 6 p.m. on Thursday, December 6.

Doors open at 6:30. The evening begins with a short performance by the Kivajat Dancers, followed by dancing with the Backroom Boys. Special guest with will be Finnish television personality Antti Holma. The event is a fundraiser for the Kivajat Dancers! Additional details will be released closer to the event’s date!
