Student Spotlight: Gavin Mackey, Graphic Design

Sophomore Gavin Mackey, a graphic design major and Hancock local, has two favorite things; computing and art. Ever since Mackey was in his early teens, he was messing around in Adobe Photoshop creating pixel art and posters. His love for graphic design spiraled from there.

International School of Art & Design 2021 Bachelor of Fine Arts Diploma Works Exhibition

Finlandia University’s International School of Art & Design (ISAD) 2021 Bachelor of Fine Arts Diploma Works Exhibition is featured from April 28 to July 22, 2021, at the Finlandia University Gallery. The Finlandia University Gallery is located in the Finnish American Heritage Center in Hancock.

ISAD program undergoing changes for Fall 2021

Finlandia’s International School of Art & Design (ISAD) will be undergoing program changes beginning in the Fall 2021. 

Beginning fall 2021, FinnU will no longer accept new students into the Fiber & Fashion, Intermedia, and Ceramic Design bachelor degree programs. These programs are not completely closed, but enrollment interest over the years has waned and ISAD Dean Denise Vandeville says the programs will be suspended until enrollment interest grows and the school can sustain its re-emergence. Young Women’s Caucus for Art Hosts Annual Soup and Art Auction

On Saturday, November 16, the Finlandia University chapter of the Young Women’s Caucus for Art will host their annual fundraiser, the Soup & Art Auction.

Each year the club members fundraise to go to the National Women’s Art Caucus conference. This year this conference is in Chicago. The first college chapter of this art-oriented national organization, was founded here at Finlandia.

Chassell High School Visits Finlandia University’s International School of Art & Design

In the last year, the International School of Art & Design has welcomed local high schools to visit, tour and experience all that the school has to offer.

Young Women’s Caucus for Art Hosts Annual Soup & Art Auction

On February 2, the Finlandia University chapter of the Young Women’s Caucus for Art will host their annual fundraiser, the Soup & Art Auction.

Finlandia University announces Beihai University of Art & Design as first sister school in Asia

Finlandia University is proud to announce further growth to an already fruitful relationship with Beihai College of Arts and Design in Beihai China.

ISAD hosting open house and portfolio review July 31

Finlandia University’s International School of Art & Design (ISAD) is hosting an open house and portfolio review day for prospective art students on July 31.
