Bridge Feature: Hirvonen Hall provides new Esports arena

Instructional renovations at Hirvonen Hall have provided Finlandia’s Esports program with a new state-of-the-art arena. With well over 20 active players, the new space includes 14 top-of-the-line personal computers, 4k TVs, numerous consoles, a VR machine and a green screen streaming studio. Opening their doors for Finlandia students, their family and friends to enjoy the new equipment, Esports hosts open houses on Fridays and Saturdays from 6 p.m. to midnight and Sundays 1 to 7 p.m.

Higher education resource guide releases the best institution programs for 2022 

Hancock, MIIntelligent.com has named Finlandia University one of the Best Colleges in Michigan in 2022 for the second year in a row.

Finlandia halves price of top ranked Online RN-BSN program

Western Upper Peninsula’s only accredited BSN program, the Online RN-BSN completion track, just became even more affordable at Finlandia University. 

For busy nurses looking to advance their careers, budgeting for an RN-BSN program should be the least of their worries. Finlandia is making that part easier by lowering the price of its Online RN-BSN program to $7,500.

O’Neill begins as Assistant Nursing Professor for College of Health Sciences

Renee O’Neill has joined the Hirvonen College of Health Sciences faculty as an Assistant Professor of Nursing. O’Neill earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Webster University in St. Louis and her Master of Science in Nursing, specializing in midwifery from Frontier Nursing University. This will be her first year teaching at the university level and she looks forward to getting to know the other staff and students during the fall semester.

Alumna Sami Dowling (‘10)  joined Finlandia’s Hirvonen College of Health Sciences this fall as an instructor for the university’s Physical Therapist Assistant program. Dowling has 11 years of licensed clinical experience and many more years of observation.

Growth at Finlandia, largest incoming class in five years

This fall, Finlandia University’s overall enrollment grew by six percent with the on-campus student population increasing by nine percent. This full-time-equivalent growth brought 25 more students to campus than in fall 2020, giving Finlandia an enrollment of 430. The fall 2021 incoming class is the largest since 2016 with Finlandia’s International School of Business realizing an all-time high of 137 degree-seeking majors. Finlandia hires new Assistant Professor of Nursing

Aliina Radcliff has joined Finlandia’s College of Health Sciences as an Assistant Professor of Nursing. Radcliff has a strong background in the field with 36 years of nursing experience, the majority of that experience in the operating room and preoperative services.
