Dual Enrollment for High School Students: Learn How

Dual enrollment is a great opportunity for eligible high school juniors and seniors to jumpstart their college education at a great discount, or for many students, free.Finlandia University offers online classes to students nationwide and dozens of on-campus opportunities to those located near Hancock. Hancock Promise application deadline extended to May 1 for Hancock grads

Finlandia’s Hancock Promise deadline has been extended to May 1. This means Hancock Central High School students who are interested in attending FinnU in Fall 2022 will have additional time to start their application process.

The Hancock Promise allows for Hancock Central High School graduates to attend Finlandia University at a tuition cost of up to only $2,500 per school year. Beginning in 2009, approximately 18-26 students have taken advantage of the program annually.

FinnU raises money for student scholarships

Finlandia alumni, friends and families donated nearly $11,000 toward student scholarships on Giving Tuesday this year. In total, 50 donors raised $10,976 for scholarships such as the Lake Effect Scholarship, Western Great Lakes Scholarship and Rise Together Scholarship, a need-based free full-tuition scholarship established in 2020.

Donors heard stories from FinnU students throughout the day such as Student Ambassador Danny Zuchak, a Finnish Strong Transfer Scholarship recipient and student-athlete.

Donate toward student scholarships this Giving Tuesday, Nov. 30

On November 30, Finlandia University will be raising money for student scholarships for Giving Tuesday. Proceeds raised on Giving Tuesday play an important role in giving FinnU students financial support and quality academic opportunities.

Last year, Finlandia’s Giving Tuesday campaign raised over $30,087 in 24 hours with a donor match. All donations received last year went toward FinnU’s annual scholarship programs to help keep FinnU affordable for current and future students.

Student Spotlight: McEwen Stapleton, Management & Entrepreneurship

When McEwen Stapleton transferred to Finlandia University from Hope College, he was looking for a place where he could be himself. 

“Overall, I’m an outdoor-oriented individual and Hope College is dead-center in Holland,” said Stapleton, who is originally from Frankfort, Mich. “I am thankful for my experiences there, but it just didn’t feel like me. Support Student Scholarships and Double Your Donation this Giving Tuesday, Dec. 1

Finlandia University will be raising money for student scholarships on Giving Tuesday which takes place on December 1. Finlandia donors can double their gifts this Giving Tuesday, as an anonymous donor has pledged to match the first $10,000 raised.
