The Keweenaw Job Fair returns to Finlandia

Local employers speak with students and community members at the 2016 Keweenaw Job Fair

Finlandia University, in collaboration with Michigan Works!, is proud to once again host the Keweenaw Job Fair, which will be held at the Finnish American Heritage Center on Tuesday, April 4, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Finnish TV personality Antti Holma was looking to produce a show about Finnish-American culture, and he knew exactly where to go.

Soup and Art Auction fundraiser set for Saturday

Young Women’s Caucus for Art raising money for conference

The Young Women’s Caucus for Art at Finlandia University is hosting its annual Soup and Art Auction fundraiser Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Finnish American Heritage Center.

Heritage Center to launch Finnish American folk school

“Although our region maintains a strong ethnic pride in its Finnish roots, the loss of language and traditional arts and crafts has left many among our residents very little onto which they can attach their ethnic identity.”

Finlandia to celebrate Finland’s Independence

As it has each year since the country became independent 99 years ago, Finlandia University will celebrate Finland’s Independence Day with a program of music and theatre on Tuesday, December 6, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Finnish American Heritage Center.

Festival Ruska back for second year

As the Copper Country becomes ablaze with colorful leaves, Finlandia University will celebrate its roots with Festival Ruska 2016.
